Ship Terminated Following Death of Female Passenger Stranded on Tropical Isle

One two-month cruise around Australia is being halted days after the fatal incident of an older woman who was left behind by the cruise liner on a remote coastal location.

The passenger had been hiking on Lizard Island with other travelers from the cruise ship, but parted ways from the party for a pause. The vessel left without her and came back after some time after the ship staff realised the passenger was missing.

A large-scale search operation located her body the next day.

Investigative bodies are looking into the tragedy, together with police and the official investigator.

The CEO of the cruise operator stated that passengers and crew on the vessel were informed that the continuation of the journey had been cancelled due to the "sad loss and earlier mechanical issues".

Via official communication, he mentioned that guests would be given a full refund, and said the organization was working "to arrange the return journeys of the passengers via chartered flights".

Regulatory bodies also published an revised statement, and said they had "provided a notice to the Commander" preventing any new passengers from entering the vessel.

The official said that they would inspect the ship in Cairns upon its arrival.

The child of the victim said that her family was "surprised and saddened that the ship left the island after an scheduled outing without my mother".

Through her comments, she portrayed her parent as an "active elderly person" who was a affiliate of a hiking organization.
